Samsung Omnia HD and Pro



Korean giant Samsung has refreshed its popular Omnia line-up in the country. The company added two more handsets to its Omnia series, with the launch of Omnia HD and Omnia Pro B7320, in the Indian market.

While with Omnia HD, India gets its first mobile with 720 pixel high definition (HD) video recording, Omnia Pro B7320 is the first sub-Rs 20K Omnia phone launch.

Here's looking further into Samsung's big new entries in the mobile market.




Samsung claims Omnia HD is the world's first full-touch handset with an AMOLED screen size of largest 9.4 cm (3.7-inch). The Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode or AMOLED touch screen offers sharpness of tone, vivid colours, greater clarity in direct sunlight and consumes less power. The phone has a 16:9 screen with 16M colours.

Unlike the HD's touch screen interface, Omnia PRO has a full QWERTY keypad and boasts of a compact design. Pro has a 2.4-inch TFT LCD display and supports 16M colours.



With 8 megapixel camera, Samsung Omnia HD is said to be the first handset featuring 720 pixels high definition (HD) video recording. Pro features a 3 megapixel camera with auto-focus.

Features

Omnia HD packs an Accelerometer and Proximity sensor operations, support for HD TV via DLNA technology, Samsung’s DNSe Sound engine, 3D games support, GPS with A-GPS support and Route 66 GPS app on-board, 3G with HSUPA and HSDPA support, EDGE/GPRS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth with A2DP and USB 2.0.

Pro's features include standard FM radio with RDS, Bluetooth with A2DP, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi, GPS, microSD card, DNSe sound engine and 3G support.

Memory

Samsung Omnia HD comes with an internal memory of 16GB which can be extended to another 32GB summing it to a total memory capacity of whopping 48GB. Omnia Pro B7320 offers an internal memory of 70MB which is expandable upto 16GB. Symbian-powered Omnia HD comes with a 1GHz Processor and a full 3D user interface.

Omnia Pro runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system. Targeted at business users, Omnia Pro comes with a 528MHz, 256MB of ROM and 256MB of RAM. The phone can be upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.5 version.

Price

Omnia HD is available for Rs 33,990 while Omnia Pro comes with a price tag of Rs 16,500.
